Trump Deports CNN Reporter to El Salvadorian Prison for Asking Tough Question at Press Conference

WASHINGTON - President Donald Trump this week ordered the deportation of CNN White House correspondent James Costa directly into an El Salvadorian maximum-security prison after the reporter had the audacity to ask “a rude, nasty, very disrespectful question” about inflation.
The press conference, which was intended to be a "lighthearted update" on the Trump administration’s latest efforts to rename the Federal Reserve to "the Supreme Bank of Trump," took a turn when Costa asked, “Why does your economic plan rely so heavily on tariffs which economists say will raise prices?” - a question Trump described as both “leftist terrorism” and “probably a felony.”
Trump, visibly angered, whispered to an aide, pointed at Costa, and shouted, “Get him outta here. And I don’t mean outta the room, I mean outta the country, preferably one with big prisons.”
Within hours, Costa was detained by armed U.S. marshals, duct-taped to a Spirit Airlines seat, and flown to El Salvador where he was handed over to authorities with a sticky note that read “Sedition suspect, do not return until he loves America.”
According to Trump spokesperson Karoline Leavitt, the incident is part of a broader initiative called Operation Don’t Ask, a bold new policy aimed at cracking down on "anti-patriotic journalism."
“Reporters must understand that tough questions are a form of violence,” Leavitt stated. “When you ask, ‘What’s your plan to lower grocery prices?’ you’re basically launching a terrorist attack.”
