Trump Administration Withdraws Nomination for CDC Director After it's Revealed that Nominee is an Expert

WASHINGTON - The Trump administration announced this morning that they are withdrawing Trump's recent nominee, Bryan Whitmore, from consideration for Director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) due to the discovery that Whitmore has several decades of experience as an infectious disease expert.

"We can't have someone competent at the highest levels of government. That would be a disaster," said Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt. “Mr. Whitmore lied about his experience leading Trump to believe that Mr. Whitmore was incompetent and knew nothing about infectious diseases. Once the President found out that Mr. Whitmore is a competent expert he promptly removed him from consideration.”

The revelation of Whitmore’s credentials apparently came to light during a routine background check, when White House aides were horrified to find his résumé included degrees in microbiology and medicine, as well as extensive experience handling actual disease outbreaks. “We just assumed he had a podcast or maybe a YouTube channel about ‘natural immunity,’” the White House aide continued. “This was a major vetting failure.”

On a post made on Truth Social, Trump explained that he would continue his search for an incompetent sycophant to lead one of the country’s leading health agencies. “Believe me, we don’t want any of you lying so called scientific experts in our agencies. We need patriots like you beautiful January sixers,” said Trump in a Truth Social post.

Meanwhile, administration officials have reportedly begun scouting new candidates for the CDC role, focusing on individuals with the right combination of ignorance, loyalty, and a willingness to appear on Fox News at a moment’s notice.
