Austin, TX — Elon Musk, the billionaire entrepreneur known for his bold ventures into space and electric cars, made a controversial remark directed at former Tesla employees who were upset over their recent layoffs. In a post made on X (formerly known as Twitter) Musk told the former staff members to "get over it" because "we are just living in a simulation."

"Reality isn't what it seems," stated Musk, leaning into his long-held fascination with the simulation hypothesis—the idea that all of existence could be an artificial simulation. "So, technically, those jobs never existed in the first place, and neither did your careers," he added.

In response to comments, Musk made another post stating, "It’s really quite simple. If we accept the possibility of being in a simulation, then many of our day-to-day concerns seem less significant. This includes job loss, which, while unpleasant, might be just another test or a bug in the system."

Tesla has not issued any formal statements regarding the layoffs or Musk’s comments about the simulation theory. Meanwhile, former employees and the general public continue to grapple with the practical and philosophical implications of Musk’s advice.
